It covers criminal and civil cases filed in the General Division of the Court of Common Pleas, domestic relations cases, and appellate cases in the 10th District Court of Appeals. You can search by name, case number, attorney, or date range. The system goes back to the 1980s for most divisions. Document images are available for many civil and criminal filings.

CIO shows the same docket entries found in the official court record. But the site itself is not the official record. If you have a question about accuracy, the original court file at the courthouse is what counts. There will always be some delay between when a filing happens and when it shows on CIO. The system also has a "My Portfolio" feature that lets you save and track cases you care about. Advanced search options let you filter by multiple criteria at once.

The system is not built for bulk data downloads. The Franklin County Clerk's office will detect and stop efforts to scrape large amounts of data without approval. If you need bulk records, submit a public records request through the clerk's website. CIO may go down for maintenance from time to time, both planned and unplanned.

Note: Franklin County CIO data is a copy of the official court docket and may not reflect the most recent filings at any given moment.
